Off the main road in Spring Hill, FL but well worth looking for. We started with two excellent beers and had crispy dinner rolls with seasoned olive oil for dipping. We ordered the Hawaiian Pork Chops which came with salad, potatoes, veggies and a grilled pineapple wedge. The salad was fresh and came with house made dressing. The potatoes we chose were creamy garlic mashed. Very good. The grilled pineapple wedge was delicious. The grilled pork chops were the best. Tender, sweet and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is nice with live music. Service was excellent and friendly. I wish I could give The Cove more than five stars.

Wow! What a find! 7 of us for dinner and it was all fantastic! Will definitely be back. From a most excellent rum runner to homemade key lime pie to the attentive and professional service- this place is great! A reservation is not a bad idea.

Friendly service, good food, live entertainment with a tip jar. I always make reservations but on weeknights there is no need really. Skip the chains and give The Cove a try!

Good food and portions!! Service was good and it was very busy! I had the caribbean pork chop with sweet potato and grilled pineapple and they were great; husband had the jerk chicken and it too was great... It's on the Early Bird menu but you can get it at dinner too. We had the Conch fritters and they were good, the dipping sauce was very yummy if you are a coconut fan! My daughter and cousin shared the Hula Hula chicken and they ate almost all of it! Kid menu is ok and portion ok; a little pricey at $6.75. As for drinks the sangria was just ok; but the mango margarita was good (had it on the rocks because blinder was broken). Overall experience was very good and would definitely go back when in the area!

My husband and I went back for lunch. Same great service and amazing lobster bisque (but very skimpy on the meat) but that's where it ended. The Hawaiian pork was salty and the the chicken seemed like it was a frozen breast from Sam's with the grill marks on it with jarred roasted red peppers. Like I mentioned the service was excellent and I would almost go back for the lobster bisque alone.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try. We started with the fried calamari, it was okay no tentacles the mustard key lime sauce just tasted like mustard, the peppers and tomatoes on it were uncooked. The bread and dipping sauce was terrible, hard bread and the dip was 90% oregano. The salad was good except for the croutons that could have chipped a tooth, they took a fork and knife to cut. The Brunswick soup had a good flavor. I got the scallop dinner with shrimp, the shrimp were cooked perfectly but the scallops were undercooked and chewy. My husband got the seafood platter and his shrimp cooked perfectly as well but the scallops were undercooked and the fish was overcooked and tough. Overall the food was mediocre at best, we will not be back for more.

Got a chance to get back to The Cove, Hernando Beach over the weekend. Had the seafood chowder (very tasty, small criticism would be that's it's a little light on the seafood) and then the delicious pork chop. This is a great dish, cooked excellently and with a sweet taste, served with a pineapple slice. If you've had it then I'm sure you love it. Great place. The carrot cake was wonderful as well, and I don't even like sweets.

Front door window glass filthy. But I had to eat somewhere because it was late. Could see kitchen so I figured I'd risk it. Salmon was OK. Good server. The owner needs to get some energy to get this back to to being respectable. .

"Off the Chart flavor! Excellent food and service. Started with Crab Cakes and Lobster Soup. Both delicious. Ordered grilled grouper with crab meat topping - full of flavor - awesome, Salads were fresh, home made dressing . Wife ordered grilled scallops with vegetables. Not dessert folks, but they looked great . Highly recommend this place . Live band & cold beer. Love it! Close to home. Bon appetite!!

Glad we ventured off the beaten path & discovered this wonderful gem. Food was delicious & the drinks were well made. A place that knows how to make a Mojito correctly is hard to find. And let us tell you, The Cove makes them better than most places we've had. Started with crab cakes that were actually made with crab & not all filler. Soup of the day was fantastic-Seafood Chowder. The fresh warmed rolls & herbed olive oil dipping were a nice touch. The special of the day was fresh flounder w/stuffed crab-my mother in law loved it. My father in law stated for a seafood place they sure knew how to cook a steak perfectly. My partner had the seafood platter blackened & was thrilled he made this choice. I tasted the grouper & it was fantastic. As for me, the seared scallops on a bed of spinach & apple brandy sauce was three words, A-MAZ-ING! (SNAP) Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Hubby and I went for dinner here tonight. Great service from Carl and the food was great. If you go early they have early bird specials, and happy hour. We got there at 4:55, and they honored the early bird special. I got NY strip that was tender and great flavor. Husband got jerk chicken and he loved it. They had a guy singing great tunes and the Sangria was delish! Also lobster bisque was soooo good! We will return!

Had a surprise 70th for my dad here and everyone raved about the food, service, & music. Appetizers of calamari & spinach dip were delicious. Everyone ordered off the lunch or early bird menu and there were no complaints. Lots of made in house items. The lobster bisque was outstanding. The crab cake sliders were really good (I had to ditch the buns to finish them though). Beans & rice - yum. Salmon, pork chops & Steaks were great. They had a nice kids menu also. Will definitely be back here. Another great Hernando Beach spot! Even with our really large party they rocked it.

This place is a hidden gem. We live near Tampa and the next time we are in the area, we will definitely go again. It is Classic Florida, the fish is fresh, everything is made from scratch. The service was great. You must try the lobster bisque, it is better than at Bern's Steakhouse (my previous favorite!). My husband is a chef and was impressed. Can't wait to go back.

It's a little out of the way but we had such wonderful friendly service and the food was fantastic! Try the beans and rice instead of fries....such a simple thing but so often just not done well...not the case here. The beans and rice were outstanding. Crab sliders:OMG I could eat these all night!! The cakes were packed with crab - not breading. Escargot had a great butter/wine/garlic sause and we're not tough or chewy. Salad was fresh. Steak special was generous and a nice cut of meat. Price wise : spot on..less expensive than a trip to Tampa. They also have live music that was good and he was interactive and charming. Looking forward to coming back again!

We did a kayak run down the weeki wachee Memorial day weekend 2015 (see Kayak Shack). After that paddling we needed a place to eat. Someone recommended this place and YELP reviews looked promising. We had actually passed it while cruising the area earlier in the day. When we arrived (about 4:30pm) a band had just started playing outside (pretty good, actually). It was happy hour time (and early bird time!). So we ordered some beer and food off that menu. Let me tell you, the flavors were off the chart! The seafood chowder and lobster bisque exploded. Our server (Jill...who was sweet, knowledgeable, and AMAZING) suggested we combine the 2 soups for a crazy experience...and she was RIGHT! We ordered them separately and did it on the spoon. Please...TRY THIS! For the main course we had the pulled pork plate and the seared salmon. Salmon was a little tough, but the flavors were outta sight! The chef even patrolled the room to see how the diners were enjoying the meals. Always encouraging to see the kitchen take a REAL interest in the diners' experience. For dessert, a nice slice of key lime pie was included, but we opted to try the famous CARROT CAKE as well. PLEASE DO! Off the chart, and HUGE! Program your GPS to stop by here when in town to see the mermaids or if you're just cruising the coast. You will not be disappointed!

We just made our second trip to The Cove and brought two other couples. We all came away with only good comments. We love the way we had a choice of early bird specials, two specials at a reduced price and the full regular menu. AND, 2 for 1 drinks. We all enjoyed our choices-our server was excellent. We will be back.

Six of us enjoyed a delicious dinner with great background music played by the keyboardist. The grouper, salmon, shrimp & scallop scampi and the pasta primavera with chicken were all delicious. Lots of food with the salads, rolls and side dishes all included. The service was excellent.

The pork chop was wonderful but my wife ordered the special crab stuffed lobster along with the other couple and it was agree that the lobster was way over cooked mushy way overpriced. Waiter gave this special high marks but it was a big disappointment. We are sorry we did not report dissatisfaction to the waiter but did not want to embarrass our guests.

Love the atmosphere and service here, nice piano music playing in the background but not so loud that you couldn't talk. Service was really excellent even though it is a laid-back seafood shack and very casual. Yelp reviews led us here and we agreed the lobster bisque was great & the serving size was huge, ordered the raved-about crab cake which was also a very generous portion but was a different preparation & not really a favorite for either of us. The desserts were good-carrot cake & cheesecake. I give it 4 stars for service & atmosphere but 3 for the food although to be fair it might have been what we ordered..

Our party of three had a wonderful meal. Both the seafood corn chowder and lobster bisque were wonderful. We had great service. Solid wine list. The noise level can get loud which is an issue for my dad who has hearing loss. Overall, a wonderful meal.

We have eaten here three times in the last month. Each time the food has been terrific. Waitstaff is attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Early birds are a great but but end at 5:00. I would like this to be extended to 5:30. Music we had last night was a nice touch to our meal.

Staff very pleasant and professional. Live dinner music was perfect volume and the repetoir was apropriate as well. Great place to bring friends!

Glad we checked with Yelp. This a new gem of a place and it is so welcomed. The Cove has amazing food and great service. The crab cakes were perfect. My boyfriend is not a fan of crab cakes and he loved them All crab meat not much filler with a great mango chutney. The soups were great. The pan seared scallops were like butter. The prices are reasonable and drinks are different and delicious. The pecan pie was so good. The bread with herb oil dipping was a nice touch to go with the meal. Delicious bread.

Visiting from California, so found The Cove on Yelp. Not one bad review, I thought could this really be. YES, the food is off the chain here. Loved everything thing we ordered. Starting with the delicious crab-spinach dip with fried pita bread-Yummy, crab cakes, seafood corn chowder. Our Entree were likewise scrumptious. Melissa our server was awesome. The owner greeted each table, very gracious. Oh and try the Lazy River Martini-so good. Can't wait to visit again, 10 star establishment !!!!!
